Go Easy On The Sprout Tank Please

I left FFXIV just before heavensword came out and was a level 50 WAR. I just came back this week with new friends and decided to start a new character as a PLD. For all intents and purposes I feel like a new player as I can only scarcely remember some of the dungeons.

I understand that the Veteran players are doing a roulette and want to rush the dungeon but for the love of all things Eorzea, let me set the pace. If I’m dying because the healer can’t keep up with the heals then I was under the impression that I need to pull slower, not run to try and catch up with the DPS who are pulling everything while I’m struggling to relearn how to gain all the enmity back.

And for the record I let every party know that this is my first run, and normally the DPS will go easy for me and let me set the pace or pull what I’m comfortable with. I don’t really think I slow the party down as I just like to make sure I have the enmity for the entire pull rather then watch one mob chase a DPS around the room, with me struggling to lock onto that target (PS4 controller).

So please by all means offer me advice, and criticisms as I can learn from that. But running ahead with me running to catch up with the rest of the party is a pain in the Goobue!

Are other sprout tanks having the same problem?
