<!-- ** --> We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.

Based on the results of our investigation, around 6570 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while around 390 accounts were temporarily suspended.
Additionally, we have increased the number of mass bannings against certain PlayOnline violations in order to prevent illegal acts.

Details of the violations are as follows:

- Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement.
August 27, Approx. 120 cases

- Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear.
August 23, Approx. 70 cases

- Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
July 26, Approx. 420 cases
August 2, Approx. 260 cases
August 9, Approx. 400 cases
August 23, Approx. 1300 cases

- Gil and item exchange for real world money.
August 27, Approx. 440 cases

- Instances of areas or monster monopolization.
July 26, Approx. 970 cases
August 9, Approx. 1760 cases
August 23, Approx. 220 cases

- Usage of synthesis and auction houses for RMT activities.
August 27, Approx. 1000 cases

The termination of these accounts has led to the removal of approximately 2.6 billion gil from circulation.

We would like to remind players that as well as adversely affecting game balance, the use of third-party tools or cheats can also have consequences that are not immediately obvious, such as introducing damaging viruses, and comprising the security of private account details. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within FINAL FANTASY XI, and we will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the PlayOnline Member Agreement.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.

I wondered if all that POL maintenance last week was the monthly banstick. I noticed they mentioned banning people who use synthesis and the AH for RMT activities. Wonder if they mean sushi and tacos:eek: I don't make money on sushi or related fish anymore, but would hate to see prices sky rocket on them.
If SE ever finds a way to stop RMT catching and synthing these, they need to lower price of wasabi and/or change the synth to produce more. The fish is just too hard to catch to meet the demand without tons of people fishing. Sole is level 96 and a pain to catch. Squid is level 91 and easier to catch but does not stack.

The fishbots that I saw a few days ago are were no longer there as of yesterday...

The "zz" and "jj" crafter group were active, but I dont know about them as of the last couple of days.

I dont know if you saw or not elvi...there is a Lik Kabob...That item will totally be out of the relm of being monopolized by RMT as it took me 3 years to be able to catch them. Hopefully the stats are good enough for it to be a viable source of income.

Why aren't they viable already? Seems like you'd be able to sell them to people doing the quest.

you have to be high enough to catch them to do the quest in the first place because you need a GP item called 'Sea Serpent Rumours' which is lvl 88. You cant catch them without it nor start the quest. so if you have the quest and are going for the rod, chances are you will just catch them yourself, although, they sometimes sell, so who knows

The Lik may sell to people who want more to try for the Ebisu item. But those people are so few that selling them is very very slow.

And yes I saw the Lik food O.o Whats up with that anyway? I mean I would charge alot for it just because of all the work to get a Lik. And I can not get Tonno Rosso or Turtle soup or any of the high level, High cost foods to sell in this economy. What we need is get rid of the Botters and make wasabi cheap enough that we can sell sushi to our friends w/o them cursing us for the cost! I won't even make sushi any more because RMT can do it cheaper and faster.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but generally fish foods are for like DEX and VIT and shit right? Not sure anyone will use that because there will always be something better. Here's to hoping I'm wrong though.

Uh.. huh? I know you know sushi gives acc <_< so not sure what you're saying here. Quite obviously sushi is fish..

See "Prepared Seafood". Grilled Lik probably falls under the "Finger Food" category, most of which gives DEF, DEX, VIT, and other crappy stats. The exception is a Balik Sis, but from the description you can see that that also includes meat, hence the +Attack.
