After over two months of what I can only describe as total duchebaggery on the part of Square Enix's FFXIV "customer support" staff, I'm refusing to give them any more money in the form of subscription fees.
I was reported for... something. I guess I'll never know, because the "account review" people claim they can't even access the material that was used to issue the caution in the first place. Which means their entire job is little more than telling paying customers to shut up and go away. Which is exactly what they did to me. I'm sure it's happened to plenty of others as well. Someone needs to be fired for that. You can't just randomly accuse people of things and expect them to pay you for the privilege of being kicked in the teeth.
I tried engaging with them, and then after about a month they simply stopped responding to my tickets. I tried reaching out to the official Square Enix and FFXIV accounts on Twitter hoping maybe they could at least put me in touch with someone. Never got a single response in over two weeks of daily requests. I even managed to get in touch with a game master, who claimed they'd put me in the queue to talk to a manager, but several days on, no manager has made any attempt to contact me.
I know my actions probably will make little to no difference, but all I can do is vote with my dollars, and I'm voting to not continue giving any of them to Square Enix. Maybe I'll try WoW or GW2, I don't know, I just know I have already uninstalled FFXIV and will likely never reinstall it.
