We might have a long way to go until 7.1, but it's not a bad time to explore the related lore while 7.0 is still fresh in our mind. Obviously, all of this is conjecture, as there is next to no information revealed, but it's worth a shot.
In fact, there is so little information the entirety of what we were told consist of those two pictures. One of which was used as an anniversary picture for the 20th anniversary and portray a scene of the Crystal War from the opening movie, and probably mean nothing, while the other show the original antagonist of the base version of the game.
So...what could it be?
In XI, Ra'Kaznar was a mysterious place built at the border between the World of the Living and the Underworld, and was the final area of the last expansion (Rhapsody aside). A significant part of the area was built using "black and purple" material reminiscent of the ore of the same name in XIV, that is everywhere in Solution 9.
While the name may just be a random reference, it's important to understand that huge chunk of Dawntrail's lore revolves around the cycle of soul, and all those "black and purple" technology built by Alexandria kind of relate to that. So the question is, if we were to dig deep enough in that Ra'Kaznar/Electrope mine, could we find another pathway to the Umbral Underworld (as opposed to the Astral one where we fought Hydaelyn)?
It may also be a coincidence, but Machi's technology used to harvest soul energy of Voidsent also shine with the same black and purple color? Is it the same thing?
The Zantetsuken is gone! One of my own men has stolen away with the Blade, and left nary a trace to track his flight. I never dreamt he would do such thing, and I stayed my hand too long to stop him... - Lewin
I'm sure everyone remember that Odin has been missing in action for a decade now. When we realized the sword was a Primal, it was already gone, never to be seen again. It's possible that it was used as a plot device to explain why the FATE reappears, but what kind of Warrior of Light would leave a malicious Primal roaming around?...We eat those for breakfast.
Odin's lore was later continued in Eureka, which explained the nature of its summoning, but we never learned about its origin story. Who was he before becoming a primal? What era does he came from? Who built the island of Val located on the lifestream and why?
With Eureka being a huge throwback to FFXI (with some V reference spliced in), it's plausible that a continuation of Eureka and Odin's storyline would lead to a XI-themed raid.
But why Odin? For starter, the Shadow Lord depicted in the picture is one of the most iconic antagonist of the game, and the short version of his backstory is that he fell prey to Odin's darkness after being betrayed by his friends in the far north. Could the Shadow Lord this time around be an amalgam of every soul stolen and corrupted by Odin, not unlike a Voidsent or Zoraal ja?
In XI, his castle was located in the Far North, in Beaucedine Glacier, and was filled with demon (ie: FFXIV Voidsent).
In Tural, that could correspond to the northern area of Loazeniheta that have been mentioned in Tank role quest. Roughly, the Appalachian and North east of Canada (it's always snowy up there I bet!).
If you played FFXI until Aht Urgan, you most likely remember being obliterated by the three beastmans leader at some point. Those guys were massive pain that would invade cities, and sit down on their throne if they succeeded, until you got back what they stole.
In the context of Dawntrail, there was a surprising lack of "Medusa" given that the other two beastmen leader play prominent roles. Is it because we already had their tribe back in Stormblood? Possibly, but most tribes are found in multiple place anyway.
While a trip to a northern ship yard filled with undead and Naga is possible, I believe Shade Triangles (Bermuda Triangle) and the Field Operation that was announced might be a better fit. Not only is there known ship wreck, they could easily hide an Allagan's base in there, or another "Isles of Val" kind of deal.,
We're slave to the whim of sleep - Leophyne (tank role quest)
One of the key elements of the Shadow Lord's storyline is that part of his soul was trapped in a permanent nightmare (maintained by Diabolos, the Avatar of Dream).
While there is nothing similar in XIV, the Tank Roles quest does involve "The Cradle of the sleepless", a totem made with the essence of the The Wide Eye, a Tural Vidraal who protect his wielder against sleep.
Could that be connected to a primordial force in the far north that send people to sleep? This expansion hinted multiples time at "something" granting people dream and vision that led them to their demise.
It's not impossible that XI is a "reflection", but all thing said, the Creation myth of XI is very different from the one in XIV, despite both game taking place on a star, with light and darkness balance issue, that weakened it against cosmic force .
If anything, a distant star would be more likely, but I don't think that would be a good storyline in the context of this raid. This game is much better when it incorporates and reshapes the lore it's based on, rather than do a 1:1 copy, or direct cross over like we had before with Rhapsody of Vana'diel.
Personally, i think a continuation of Odin's storyline is quite likely, since Eureka is already the closest we had. Where could they go however is anyone guess. If I had to bet on something, it would be something along the line of
What's your guess?

Gulool Ja Ja, Gurfurlur and Medusa

Personally, i think a continuation of Odin's storyline is quite likely, since Eureka is already the closest we had. Where could they go however is anyone guess. If I had to bet on something, it would be something along the line of
- Castle Zvahl (Shadowlord)
- Ra'Kaznar ruins (with Odin at the gate to the underworld)
- A promyvion-like area, or underworld corrupted by emptiness or void (Chaos?)
