Recently many people are debating about
"E-thots"
and
"Simps"
People hate this fact, but the undeniable truth is that...
Anyone can start a Twitch account.
We have seen again and again that people who score grey parses on the attractiveness score get a following of 10,000+ on Twitch. Even if you're ugly you can still become a Twitch superstar.
However, many e-thots think that if you don't have 10,000 subscribers on Twitch, you're a loser and you don't deserve to play FF14. Attitudes like "please sub to me with Twitch Prime" are getting depressingly common. Furthermore, e-thots are starting to harass people who don't care about Twitch by sending simps to harass them. This crosses a fine line and even resulted in the Hiroshima incident recently.
Any reasonable person would find this offputting. The idea that everyone should get 10,000 simps to follow you every day and call you a queen is just unhelpful, because this gives a bad vibe that repels sprout players, who would otherwise be a Twitch superstar were it not for the toxic simp culture.
To this end I decided to create a meme:
It has also been said that if you don't follow any e-thot, you should not play this game. These things are becoming more and more common mentalities, and honestly, were it not for Square Enix banning third party modifications which are utterly depraved, the e-thot and simp problem would be even bigger today.
In conclusion, I hope that people break free of this e-thot mentality and play the game normally without thinking about becoming simps.
