I saw this yesterday in POL while i was relogging in. Does this mean they finally fixed the issue with the bard song lag/certain spells?

FYI: I ask because i don't know much about computers and don't want to do something and break it unless i have to ;3

All it means is that those are the drivers/cards they've confirmed to work correctly with FFXI. I have a GeForce FX 5200(outdated, hell yes, i'm poor) with the compatible driver they have listed.. experience same song lag you're talking about.

Yeah, SE's compatibility tests are so outdated..

Notice they won't list drivers/cards that aren't compatible because.. god forbid.. they might have to do some work with their software.

If I use the most up-to-date nvidia driver I get weird partial transparancies that aren't supposed to be there.
 
Well not only are they lazy but remember that FFXI was ported over to pc the game was designed for PS2 so the programmers did a shitty job with the port

yeah, and it runs a lot smoother on ps2.. but not as pretty.
 
Yeah, runs pretty smooth on PS2, but an eye sore.

Likewise for XBox360. Oddly enough, at laggy places like Whitegate AH, the game near stops its motion.
 
Yeah I am on Xbox while on assignment in Chicago. Graphics are great, dynamis seems to even run smoother, but I agree, place like Whitegate are horrible. I refuse to go to AH there while on Xbox, I just go to Jueno, or a less laggy area. On a personal note, I wish I could somehow Bring Fafnir to Spike Flail all 900+ people who feel the need to afk and or leave their Char on in front of MH in Whitegate.
 
haha, i'm on PC and even i hate the AH and MG in Whitegate.
