DAT Mining

when you have 5+ jobs @ 75 and/or being levelled it is more or less impossible to keep all equip that is actually necessary on one account

It's the way SE has made everything situational... but all that "marginal" gear really adds up. There's a big difference between a BLM who can aspir for up to 200 and one who can barely break 100, but it's not any one piece of gear... BLM is a really extreme example as we use significant magic of 3 or more different types, so we end up getting swamped, but there are lots of jobs that can be pimped out the same way as Cujo mentioned with DRK. A DRK without HP gear can still Souleater/multihit weapon a mob, but never as effectively as one who bothers to carry HP gear. It's just a matter of how far you want to take it, and then when that's limited by inventory space, it's a pretty rotten feeling.

Yeah, I'm starting to see prioritization as a big deal. How much enfeebling equipment should I carry around as a whm? I know some people laugh, but it makes a big difference and can be helpful at times. But I probably don't need it for HNMs (lots of rdms around) and such. Bring it for assault, maybe for meripo, and that's it. It's comforting to have it available when needed, but I could save a lot of space camping Fafnir or something if I'd leave it at home.

I probably don't need much -enmity for meripo. Certainly not my melee gear unless it's a skillup party. ^_~ Why I carry around all my whm AF2 when I hardly ever use the feet or head.... Just have to say "enough is enough" and carry the stuff that will be useful most of the time. I'm still learning how to do this.

But don't touch my hMP equip! ^_~

I'm not a 75 blm (yet!) but surely some of that isn't needed for every event you go to? Especially for blm (where it seems like you're dead once you do enough damage and have gotten enough hate), paring down the equip a little (lot?) and doing a bit less damage isn't going to be a big deal. You'll just die a little later than the "fully geared" blm once you catch up in total hate. ^_~

Grip = new word for 'let down'

Grip = new word for 'let down'

You can keep using nothing in that slot if you want >.>

Besides, this is the first round of grips, if nothing else it opens up a whole new slot for future update epicness.

Grip = new word for 'let down'

People keep saying this on BG, too... How is anything that we didn't have before, added in as a bonus, a 'let down'.. if you won the lottery and it was only 5 mil instead of 10, would you feel let down? @_@

Its hella nice, SAM owns as it was before the update, now we have even buffer WS's, more Attack, and an extra equip slot...

Naw, Jotaru.. the grips really do suck

I mean... the added shit doesn't do that much, right?

Now if there was a grip that did something like... +triple atk 35%

or haste +21% ...that's SOMEWHAT acceptable but still not that good....

and I mean there's like no real mage grips... wtf is this +20MP -2 enmity shit... that's horrible. I would never use that when using a staff. Ever. Now if there was one that had like +50HP, +50MP, +10MAB, +10 to all magic skills, -7 enmity, +10 conserve MP, haste +7%, bitch more +100 ... THAT might be useful... MABYE

but yeah they didn't add those, so grips are a total letdown. What a pointless update

Pointless update = NO INVENTORY UPGADES. I mean seriously, something really needs to be changed about this.

I don't understand the reason why they can't give us more space. During Besieged you have like 90 items, so obviously it can be done w/o performance issues.

Temp items aren't in the same category as inventory items. You can't have more than 80 inventory items due to PS2 limitations, it's been this way for about 4 years.

So make it 80 then? <_<

That was kind of my point, I guess I messed up the wording. I don't know for sure, but I think that temp items + regular items has to remain less than 80. If they increase the amount of regular items you can hold, you wouldn't be able to have temp items anymore.

re: Items

The 3 rings from ToAU aren't too bad, but man were we spoiled with COP, DM and AN rewards. lol
