Adjustments to Difficulty

Particularly challenging Chains of Promathia battlefields, such as those that appear in the Promyvion areas (Holla, Dem, Mea, Vahzl), and the missions "Flames for the Dead" and "The Warrior's Path", will have their difficulty level toned down. These adjustments will include changes to monster level and placement.

We also hope that the following changes to items used specifically against Chains of Promathia enemies will encourage players to brave the dangers found in the mission battlefields.

-Rare/Ex Properties

The special items introduced for use against enemies found within the Chains of Promathia battlefields will have their "Ex" properties removed, allowing these items, such as psychoanima and mistmelt, to be put up for auction. Certain items will also have the "Rare" property removed, allowing players to carry multiples of the same item.

Experience Point Rewards

After changes made in the March 8 version update, players no longer lose experience when being KO'd within a Chains of Promathia mission battlefield. In the upcoming version update, players will also be rewarded with experience points (or limit points) upon the successful completion of a battlefield. The experience point reward will be slightly less than the amount received for ENM quests, but it will be possible for players to obtain this new reward once every Earth day.

These changes will provide a tangible benefit for those who have completed a Chains of Promathia battlefield and wish to aid other players with their first attempts.

Well I made a huge stink when they just prevented xp loss for these battles... so, you can imagine how much I like this update. :(

I guess I shouldn't complain. As recently as a day ago, I started to organize a push from the Promies all the way to Sea for peeps in my LS. I guess I'll enjoy the xp I'll make from it along the way.
 
Only thing stopping me leveling another char was COP and getting help for it. This makes it so much easier.

Other then that i loved COP before all these changes, good story & challenge.

The main reason I enjoyed CoP was because of its difficulty. Are we shifting towards a WoW-based-thing where whenever people cannot kill a monster without good strategy they nerf the monster?
 
Bad Form. This just adds to the reimburesement i expect from SE. Not only do I want my 25k+ xp I lost over 3 jobs getting sea, but the time and gil I spent getting there.
 
Seems the only 'hard' BC that's being adjusted is Snoll... I don't see how this will make for a huge push. Most of the people that really want sea access have already gotten there or are damn close to it.

We have also noticed how unhappy people were after a failed attempt at a BC/ENM and will be implementing a slight adjustment in the form of a selection when your entire party is KO'd during a BC/ENM. The Options are summarized below.

Option 1
Retry mission. This Option will exit your party outside the arena where you hope a mage still has Reraise up and you will lose experience points. (see also everyone else who has attempted a Chains of Promethia Mission)

Option 2
Skip mission with full experience points reward. This options will allow you to begin the next series of cut scenes.

Option 3
Skip all the missions. Selecting this option will teleport you to final cutscene where you defeat Promathia, provide with you 30,000 experience points and you will be prompted to select your COP ring. We here at SE apologize for the inconvience of playing the game.
 
Unfortunately this might make it a lot easier for RMT to reach Sea as well.

Seen them in the gardens last night, about 50 taru BLM and a few tanks.

I dont mind this adjustment, if anything, it cheapens the reward for the people who still need to do it, not feeling like they accomplished as much. Sea sucks, so the only real reward was knowing you could beat those stupid missions.

anyway, one of my buddies needs sea, and he just brought a couple of his friends over from another game who will also need sea. This patch will make me more inclined to help them, otherwise, they would probably be SoL shouting in whitegate/jeuno.

on a totally unrelated note, why dont RMT level in capped zones? they would only have to buy one set of armour and they could just sit there all day
