Attendance proposal

I don't see that as feasible, since both attendance number and currency fluxuates so much - especially in the northlands - that all it will really do is cut everyone's profit down to nothing, making it once again not worth it.

I used to be against an attendance policy, but now I'm thinking it's worth it. Why? Because we're not removing any incentive to come. That carrot, that AF they want, is still there. People just have to actually do something for it.

I like something simple and flat, like a % of the city runs to be able to lot northlands. That way, nobody's forced to go to every single city run, someone who only comes occasionally should be able to make it (especially if city runs are set up to cover both a wed and a sun, non-consecutive, which they usually are), people can lot their precious northlands AF and sponsors won't have to sit and wonder if they're even gonna break even on a freakin' city run!

The whole point isn't making people come, it's making people come to CITY RUNS and not just northlands. We're good on people, we really are. Now we just need to find a way to convince the 25+ people who were at the last northlands to also show to the cities. Frankly, I'm disappointed this is even an issue.
 
We hardly ever see a profit on city runs for money lotters as it is. Sandy, Windy and Jeuno are typically low to no-gain cities. Xarc can be a total bust or a boon on currency as well. Craft items beyond Wootz Ore are a joke. Most of them NPC for more than they sell on the AH.


People aren't avoiding city runs because they want something if they don't get AF. People are avoiding city runs because they already have the AF and the money they may earn isn't worth the time. Diluting that money between more people will make them even less likely to show up.
 
Yeah the more I think about the more it makes sense to do what yel is proposing but make it city runs. On top of that I am thinking bastok shouldn't be included in there. As wootz ores are enough of an incentive to come to that. Hell some of our bastok runs we have higher numbers then northlands. Almost thinking of it like this.

(This is just an idea, Its not set in stone yet)

Windy, Jeuno, and Sandy you gain 3 points of attendance worth. All other runs are 1 point worth. On a avg. month you could top out at 15 points. (Now what I am suggesting doesn't mean its points like a point system. Its just points for attendance that get wiped every month.) You would need 10 points from the last 30 days worth of runs to be able to lot. I know this could be little confusing but it does make sense if I am some how explaining it wrong.

Edit: I also just mean first tier as yel was proposing. Not that you need 10 points worth to be able to lot at all.

Edit2: Hell could even go so far as like DX. If/when we clear DL thats an extra point.

Edit3: (Since I got a PM about this) I am not saying its points that you use to "buy" AF. If you win a piece of AF your points stay the same. The only way to increase or decrease your points would be attending or not attending runs.

I like that system Heie. For clarity's sake though I would suggest rather than 30 day you make it a certain number of runs.
 
I'm ok with a system akin to Heie's proposal, but based on number of runs. Basically it would be the exact same system I set up for Limbo. As a matter of fact, you can use my spreadsheet to keep track of attendance if you choose to go that route.
 
Yeah it was just rough idea. Would need to be fine tuned alot before it is (if it is) put into place. Also need to make sure runs stay some what consistant or there is a chance everyone could basically end up with low points. Will work out the details and fine tune what we can. Once we have a rough draft we will show that and see if anyone has anything they can tweak it with to perhaps make it better.
