Attendance/alt questions

Araius

Fatty Pirate
I'm fairly certain I know the answer to the first part this question already, but I figured I would ask anyway, since I didn't see it explicitly written.

As some of you know, I have an alt that's currently 63 COR. I'm hoping to have him to 65+ with Dynamis access by the time we do our next city run. My question is two-fold:

1) Would attendance points that I obtain with one character be applicable to the other? That is, if I have 60%+ attendance on Araius, would I be considered having enough attendance as my Galka, Araconqueso?

I do understand that attendance means nothing for my Galka if he's unable to currently wear said piece of AF. For argument's sake, assume he would be 75 in this example.

2) This is an unlikely example, but it gets the point across. Say I'm doing a Xarcabard run as my Galka COR. Since my Galka only has 1 75 job (again, for argument's sake), would it be acceptable for me to comment "COR, RDM" as my AF? And in the event that RDM hat were to drop, I could run in with Araius and lot?

Again, that's an extreme example and probably wouldn't happen, but it's possible and..relevant to my interests :p If the answer is yes, I assume the opposite would be true as well...that is, I could comment "BLU, COR" while in the run as Araius, and bring Araconqueso to lot in if COR dropped.

Sorry that's so convoluted...I probably could explain that better if you ask me too :o Thanks!

1) Points apply to the person, not the character.

2) You can only lot on items for the active character within the run.

Eticket beat me to answering. =p

I will add a section regarding alternates to the rules tomorrow when I get a chance. Have already hammered these out but they have not been incorporated in to the official rules thread.

Bring both characters. :D

Haha, as long as Queso is 65 and couldn't do anything but roll anyway, I probably could :o

Okay, another example:

Say I do a Dynamis-Bastok run on Araius, just for the sake of being more useful as 75 BLU than I would be as 65 COR. However I don't want to lot money, I would much prefer to lot COR. If I have to bring Queso for the whole run in order to do that, I would be happy to. But for the benefit of all involved, it'd probably be better if I came as Araius and only brought Queso to lot and get clear ???

Of course, in such a situation, I would only be lotting on Queso. I would not lot anything on Araius.

Acceptable?

You bring up excellent questions, as I find myself in the same position (providing I ever get back...). Most times Abby is more helpful than Ming, but I do wish certain af's for smn/whm.

Good thinking!

That would be fine. Main reason we don't want people lotting on multiple characters or playing multiple characters is that it detracts from their focus. If you could keep Queso with the group and still play Araius well then I don't have a problem with you bringing him for clear and to lot COR. Still would want you to lot only on one character at a time though.

If you prefer one character over another for any given run go ahead and gather as that character. If I ask you for a job that is on Abby, by chance, feel free to let me know that you want to bring Ming for that run.

Yeah I would much prefer not to actively dualbox in Dynamis. Especially in harder zones like Windy, my focus needs to be on Araius. I could still keep Queso up with the group though, that shouldn't be a problem. I could toss rolls here and there at least, though.

I understand the only lotting on 1 character at a time thing though, I'm fine with that. It wouldn't come up much anyway, there's only 2 zones (Xarc and Sandy) that both have AF I still want for both characters. And frankly, for Xarc, it'll be a while before Queso even has access, and even then I wouldn't be lotting COR over RDM or BLU.

That's sweet, but sometimes coming as the job/person that is really needed is more important than the drop :). Not to mention, I get great satisfaction when others get the drops that they really want.
