I've been leveling gatherer retainers but I'm starting to question if it's worth it. It looks like 20 items is the max they bring back. I just can't imagine a situation where I will need 20 or less of something and not have the 5 minutes it takes to go get such a small amount myself.
Maybe I'm just not seeing the value, but my adventurer retainers seem to be much more valuable since they'll bring back items you'd normally need to buy with bi-color gemstones, or spend a longer period of time trying to farm from the source mobs.
