Anxiety In Multiplayer Content

So this is something that I've been thinking about for quite a while. It bothers me, but I don't really know if there is even a solution to it, so consider this a rant post, I suppose.

So, for some background, I've played FFXIV for about 150-ish hours. I've beaten ARR and just finished the story arc involving Leviathan in the post game, working my way towards Heavensward with my level 56 White Mage. I'm absolutely in love with the game, and I'm in an FC with people who are nice and friendly. No complaints there.

In the beginning, I had a real hard time with multiplayer content. I felt genuinely bad every time someone died, and figured that since I'm the healer, it's my job to keep everyone alive. It took a really long time before I stopped beating myself up over silly mistakes. I have to admit, I think learning about Quickcast > Raise took a huge load off my shoulder and turned a death from a "Noooo we're screwed now" to a "Oops, hold on, lemme get you back up".

For anyone struggling with this early on, once you learn how to more efficiently use your class, you will start feeling better about it. It seems obvious, but when you're in a bad state of mind, you don't think about it.

That said, I still often find it really difficult to tell when someone dies because they messed up, or when they died because I messed up. It still causes me some amount of stress, but it's way better than it used to be.

Now for my main problem, and this is something I have no idea what to do about.

I hope this isn't just me, but whenever I ask someone to run something with me, whether it be a roulette or a trial or whatever, I have this strong feeling that I'm imposing, if that makes sense. Like I'm pulling them from whatever else they have to do and being annoying by asking. It feels like I'm being a burden. Like I'm making them do it out of some sort of obligation or something, which I know is of course not true, but it doesn't stop my stupid brain from thinking along those lines.

I'm sure this is all in my head, especially since I personally never have anything against people asking (although it has yet to happen, to be honest, cuz people are way ahead of me in-game).

Is this a thing that hits home for someone else here? Maybe something you struggled with, but got over? If so, how?

In short, I just want to say that if anyone's struggling with performance woes, it will get better. You'll learn that one technique or skill that makes things way easier to manage.

If anyone has any experiences they wanna share, go for it! Could be a funny story or a mistake you made, or turning a bad situation into a good situation.. Really, anything at all. Looking forward to your responses! Have a great day.
