I have started playing Final Fantasy 14 for a week now. When I started, I just wanted to try out the game, as it is playable as a demoI didn't. So, didnt think much about optimizing my gameplay. I chose to play as an Archer and played the game as an RPG game rather than an MMO game. Now, I generally am an explorer. I like to immerse myself in the game environment and the lore. Especially, the lore. To me gameplay comes second lore comes first. And one of the ways I found exploring the lore and immersing myself in a game is going through zone by zone, talking to every single NPC, doing all the side quests, then moving on to the next zone. But after playing it for a week maybe around 22 hours or so I am currently level 28 and have found myself liking the game. Especially now that the main quest has started to pick up a bit and is not just kill x or fetch x quests. So, I went to YouTube and watched some beginner guides for the game. And I found that everyone is saying that you should focus on the Main Quest and Class quests, ignoring side quests, as they are boring and not worth it. They did suggest that if I want to do those side quests, I should get back to them when my main class is maxed and I want to level up another job. So, trying to somewhat keep myself competent with everyone, I started to ignore places, NPCs, and side quests forthe last couple of days. And now the game is feeling bad for me. Every time I move past a zone, NPC, or side quest thinking that's not the main quest or a class quest, I feel damn, but I wonder what he/she had to say or how that place looks.
It has come to a point where I find myself turning off the game because I just don't like to miss out on stuff.
I am in a dilemma now because if I try to explore aimlessly and do side quests that's not worth it, I am wasting time and maybe won't have missions left to level up the other jobs. And if I don't do them I juscan'tnt immerse myself in the game.
I did try to focus on the main story but accept all the side quests along the way, letting them pile up, but found that you can have 30 quests active at a time. So, thats also a no go.
I just dont know what to do. Its sad that the moment I got myself loving the game it kinda fell apart. And I feel confused what to do instead of playing the game enjoying how I was enjoying and pretty much get fraustrated and turn off the game and play something else instead.
Please, help me out a bit. I dont want to stop playing this game but I dont want to feel wasting efforts.
