About a month ago on Dynamis [Kraken] , my FC had a collectively large sum of gil stolen from our FC, a member was hacked and 1-2 individuals from a foreign country came in, placed an authenticator on the hacked players account stole our gil and then deleted the character. It took our member a few days to get this account restored after they found discovered it was hacked.
The individual who stole the gil is an FF14 mentor, who used another level 3 character to take money out of the FC chest, place it back in, then have the level 3 take it out. It is very clear what happened from the timestamps and timeline of the FC history. It is also clear that it was an individual from a foreign country that hacked my friend as we have a their IP address and it states the country they logged in on.
When speaking to a GM we informed them we have every screenshot including the individual who was still in our FC a few days after the incident (we did not want to remove them since we had hoped the FC would be able to investigate there, and anyone who looked at the logs would see this was the individual who was used to steal the gil).
What followed was multiple automated messages from GMs stating that the could not reach me (even though the messages were sent to me while i was online) that they would investigate it (which they clearly have not as both thieves have been active) and while we explained we had screenshots to help them understand the situation (dates/times/logs/ip address/country of hacking) we continued to receive no assistance and there was no interest in investigating this individual. We asked for the Gil back and they stated it was against their policy to return stolen items from guild chest and that while they could not speak on the investigation "to protect the information of the individual" trust in them to perform a full investigation and administrate a proper response if the ToS was found to be violated.
After two weeks this person was still allowed to play and do whatever they wanted, after repeated contacts with the GMs it was the same automated responses, this player openly mocked or FC members for getting away with stealing using emotes on them. It has been a month of continued contact with the GMs and their "investigation" is still ongoing. I have already given up the gil as lost, but my concern has been for the past few weeks has been when this individual decides to do it again. The amount taken from the FC was over 200mil, our FC planned to do community events and help a low population server push for player housing (our goal was to have contests that would give out around 5 mil per winner so they could enter for houses. 40 people would have been able to benefit from this, instead now it is 1-2 individuals). I really have no desire to see someone else have their work and time stolen like this and have the GMs do absolutely nothing to help them out.
