I'd love to be able to add a nickname at character create. You could put in a shorter version of your name, or something entirely different, whichever you like. People would be able to view it if they inspect you, or you could change settings to display nickname instead of first name.
But the real point of it would be that characters would use it in the story as makes sense. Like the Scions would start using it after a point in the story where they've really formed a bond with you. It would be a perfect beat in slow thawing relationship you have with Estinien etc.
