Hey everyone, I’m pretty new to FFXIV. I started recently and have mostly been leveling through MSQ and unlock quests. I’m around level 52 now and noticed a few things that kinda confuse me.
Almost every group I get into absolutely blasts through dungeons at light speed. I’m still trying to learn mechanics, understand what’s happening, and sometimes watch cutscenes, and suddenly everything is already dead and the group is halfway done It honestly feels like they finish the dungeon while I’m still coming out of a cutscene.
Another thing: nobody seems to roll for loot. I end up getting almost everything because people just don’t roll at all. Is that normal while leveling or am I just getting weird groups?
Also serious question: is there some kind of option to automatically skip cutscenes you’ve already seen? Sometimes I feel super behind when everyone else is already moving on.
And about commendations… who do you usually commend? The tank for basically defending me from danger while I’m still learning? Or the healer who keeps me alive when I mess up mechanics and feel like I’m hooked to life support? My first few runs each dungeon were kinda chaotic… I accidentally pulled mobs a few times and died to mechanics until I finally started understanding how things work.
Not complaining btw, just genuinely trying to understand dungeon culture and how things usually work here as a new player. Any tips would be super appreciated
