TLDR - Long-time MSQ-only casual. Take big breaks between expansions and forget mechanics. How do I get over returner roulette/raid anxiety?
For the past several expansions (6+ years now), I’ve had a great time just playing through the MSQ. I love the story, and that’s what keeps me coming back. The issue is that I almost always forget all the dungeon mechanics, trials, etc. when I resub after a year of not playing and only doing MSQ. I’ve really only played most dungeons/trials/raids once or maybe a small handful of times at most. So of course I forget everything.
It gives me anxiety going into a content that I’ve played years ago once, and completely messing up mechanics. I end up feeling dumb or worrying that other people think I’m a terrible player who should know better. I’m honestly just an uber casual who’s only seen most of this content once.
I really want to start playing again and try out other jobs (I’ve only ever played one), but I’m not sure what the best approach is as a super casual jumping back into roulettes/alliance raids with barely any memory of the more complex mechanics.
