An update to my previous post on Auxesia, we finally activated grandma laurel and with that completed the development of Auxesia. I finished the capstone quest and there's a lot of lore revealed and some implications as well.
First of all I'm glad we were able to meet the voyagers, sort of. Upon waking the tree, a hologram of the central core system emerged, identifying itself as a guide incase someone wants to wake the voyagers up. If the hologram matches the form of the voyagers, that would mean that they were a plant sapient species. The voyagers name for themselves is also revealed, the Nagylvi.
The Nagylvi hologram also explains their history as we tour Auxesia. If I'm not wrong, it seems that they were a regular spacefaring people, who combined arcane magic and technology to create and operate the structures and facilities we see in Oizys and Auxesia. They also harversted resources from their various colonies and brought them back to Auxesia. However their reckless use of the natural aether had some unintended side effects as it caused the gravity anomaly on Oizys to go haywire, resulting in its current state. We can assume that the Nagylvi there either died or fled. Meanwhile back on Auxesia, the Nagylvi there were having problems as the planet started to 'wither'. For what reason I don't know, either it wasn't mentioned or I didn't read carefully. To protect themselves and in a last ditch effort to save their world, the Nagylvi regressed back to the trees and foliage that we see to give life back to their world, which sounds suspiciously similar to the ancient's 'return to the star', wonder if they are related. Anyway, the plan didn't really work and the Nagylvi's lingering sapience slowly rotted away along with the planet, until we came along.
The hologram stated that they are glad of our arrival, since we woke them up and made them aware, and to explore further makes a minion version of themself to tag along with us in our adventures.
While this answers some questions, others remain. Are there still Nagylvi on other worlds still surviving? Will there be further cosmic exploration to find them? I do want to see a living, thriving Nagylvi society!
