World name: Odin
Character name: Deaxes Catperson
Retainer name: N/A
NPC name: N/A
Monster name: N/A
Class/Level: N/A
Party or solo: Party with a hunt train
In-game time: N/A
Area and coordinates: N/A
Housing: N/A
Steps:
1. Start the game in Handheld mode with both JoyCon 2's disconnected from the console
2. If connected, disconnect the JoyCon 2 straps
3. Hold each joy con in such a way that the game is consistently recognising your fingers as mouse input, despite you trying to use the buttons to play not the mouse
4. This step I cannot repro myself as it happened while I was playing, but I was able to somehow highlight some of the text in my chat log while I trying to use my CrossHotBar.
The result was that my chat window completely froze with some text highlighted. It not longer updated whenever a new message came in or responded to any input from the buttons or the mouse. The only interaction I could do was to move and resize the window itself. No messages, no ability to change to a new tab or hide the chat window itself.
Connection Specs
- Type of internet connection/provider:
- Modem maker/model number:
Nintendo Switch 2 with Base Console and original Joy Cons 2's in Handheld mode (disconnected from the TV) with Joy Cons disconnected from console and held in hands. If you hold the controllers in what is a natural way for me personally, the joy cons rest at a 45 degree angle and the game is constantly attempting to swap between the buttons and the mouse input and it seems to be quite disruptive. I have an image of what my chat window looked like but I am not sure how to attach it here. If you have instructions how, feel free to ask me to upload and I can do so.
Fixing the overall issue where the mouse activates when not at the correct angle to use flat on a surface, rather activating at around 45 degrees, is what I am requesting. But further to that, the ability to disable the Switch 2 Mouse input entirely in the settings also seems necessary to ensure that you can completely avoid problems like this if you want to hold the controllers in a way that angles them to what the game assumes is used for mouse input.
