So I’ve been playing ffxiv since 5.4, not as long as some others but long enough for it to be my most played game ever, I absolutely adore xiv, but towards the end of Endwalker my static and friend group got into a big fight and after Dawntrail released I stopped played the game because I just felt completely disconnected from my WoL (something i’d been feeling for months prior to the fight) and didn’t want to play her at all.
Recently however, I’ve had an itch to play ffxiv again, I still couldn’t bring myself to play on my main character for the reasons above as well as some more personal troubles out of the game, so I decided to make an alt, and it’s been amazing! I’ve been able to have a lot of fun with the game again despite losing some event items and not having my accounts progress. I feel like I’ve been able to appreciate a lot of details in the story as well as how different jobs are early on (for better or worse), overall it’s been a great experience and has reinvigorated my love for xiv.
I know some people would look at me crazy for starting a new character but she’ll still be waiting for me at the end of the day so I’m going to keep playing until I either get bored of the new character or she becomes my new main. I guess I just decided to make this post because I’m having fun with the game again and wanted to share that with other xiv players. Has anyone else started a new character before, did it stick or did you end up going back to your old one?
