Pilgrim's Traverse is the reason I started FFXIV 1200 gameplay hours ago: fun duo endgame with my partner

I started FFXIV before Dawntrail because I wanted a game to play with my partner.

Yet, even though we both love almost everything about FFXIV, it never felt like a game the two of us were playing together. Raiding, roulette, dungeons, etc always felt like just focussing on our own screens for the duration of the bit.

The only two times it felt like duo gameplay was really meaningful was variant dungeons and deep dungeons. But I had my problems with the variant dungeons (excited for 7.4 though), and PoTD felt like a pain in the butt after level 30 as there were no save points, and level 50 gameplay isn't super fun. Haven't tried Eureka as it doesn't help you level.

But I gotta say, Pilgrim's Traverse shoots it out the park for us. It's really fun, challenging enough to be doable but provide many nights of work trying to get up the ladder, but never super frustrating. Importantly, it actually IS meaningful duo gameplay.

For me, a game isn't good for a duo unless it leads to an argument at some point. And this one did. Me telling her off for not being sneaky enough, and then as a result getting to be the non-mudball-person-who-picks-up-coffers in retaliation.

I know it wasn't a great technical feat of innovation over Eureka and PoTD, but still, it's really fun. I also really like the layout.
