Just started out on the switch 2 version and I was doing the story in the desert place when a lalafell ran up to me and handed me a cute little turtle minion and sent me a whisper saying. "Welcome to Final Fantasy 14!" They then dashed off towards other players who I can only presume were new players. I couldn't say thanks fast enough because of the switch 2's onscreen keyboard! So Thank You, Tsaryi Ryuka! Ghido will be my little friend through many adventures!
