I've tried to give this a decent amount of thought.
A very limited number of people ever sponsor on open days, I had originally anticipated a decently larger number.
Because of this starting in March sponsoring will be changed so that Ultima members who do *NOT* regularly sponsor SOAP/DX will be allowed to random for 'open sponsor' days. Those who regularly sponsor DX/SOAP are Garret, Predaking and Gunman(I think?)
A number of people in Ultima would like an avenue to make some progress on their own weapons and while I predict there will now be more randoms on open days I don't think the number will be particularly prohibitive.
Sponsors must still be actively upgrading a weapon, actively implying they plan to random on most days where they have the option.
I hope this will open up more options for some people's relics.
