I finally did it! I just rolled credits on A Realm Reborn and I’m about to step into Heavensward for the first time. I took my time in ARR, leveling multiple jobs and doing (limited) side quests. I’m honestly so excited. Everyone always talks about how HW is where the story really takes off, and now I finally get to experience it myself.
But… I’m also feeling this surprising little pang of sadness.
Part of me really wishes I could’ve experienced each expansion when it first came out. Going through each “endgame” with everyone else, seeing the community hype unfold in real time, being there as players discovered fights, patches, and story beats week by week. I keep imagining what it must have been like to hit those big moments with the entire playerbase. For those who were there, what was it like?!
Still, even playing it all now, it feels incredibly special. ARR’s ending hit me way harder than I expected. Many beats had me SCREAMING! knowing that the journey only gets better from here has me so fired up.
Anyway, just wanted to share the excitement. See you all in Ishgard!
