Multiple Final Fantasy XIV soundtracks and EPs have incorrect composer credits on music streaming services, including Spotify and Apple Music. The incorrect credits appear to affect multiple tracks and are not limited to a single release.
For example, on the DAWNTRAIL: FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Soundtrack, track 6, “Windswept Echoes,” is incorrectly credited on Apple Music as:
Composer: Masayoshi Soken
Arranger: Saya Yasaki
However, the official soundtrack credits list Saya Yasaki as both the sole composer and arranger for this track.
This can also be confirmed by other sources that reproduce the official track credits, which list Saya Yasaki as the composer and arranger of “Windswept Echoes.”
The issue does not appear to be limited to the Dawntrail soundtrack. Other Final Fantasy XIV soundtracks and EPs also appear to have incorrect composer metadata on streaming services.
The composer credits should be reviewed against the official Square Enix soundtrack/booklet credits and corrected where necessary. In particular, the credits should accurately reflect the composer and arranger of each individual track, rather than incorrectly crediting Masayoshi Soken as the composer of every track on the album.
