Just to be clear from the get go, this will be a slight rant, if any of you have a possible fix I will be VERY greatful.
I have 2 characters, one of which I play on the most, the other just an alt I play around on every so often. Naturally, my main character, with whom I reached endgame, has much better hud layouts, hotbar layouts, portraits, etc. My alt does not have great layouts or portraits, and I always wondered if I could copy and paste layout settings from main to my alt. Upon further inspection, I found a monkeys paw setting on the character select screen.
I was excited to try it out, since if I could just port over all my settings from my main to my alt then that would be awesome, right? wrong I was a fucking idiot. A FOOL! I backed up my main with the "Back Up Character Settings", then I went to my alt, and clicked "Import Character Settings". It brought up a screen with the header "Copy Character Settings" along with all the names of my alts, I click my main, since I want to copy their settings over. "Select the data you wish to copy from selected character" I select all. "The selected character's data will be copied." I click the "I understand" button and press OK. A small gray box pops up with text in it "Character settings copied. Settings will be applied the next time you log in with this character."
Awesome! I'm excited to see my alt with her new layout, I log in and....
What in the FUCK, dude... it's literally the starting hud layout! I log in on my main and IT'S ALL FUCKING GONE!! HUD LAYOUT, PORTRAITS, HOTBAR LAYOUTS, EVERYTHING!! Reverted to default sprout hud, portraits non existent. Why did this happen!? It's so fucking rage inducing,defeatingand confusing. Something as simple as carrying over character settings broke both my characters settings. I download my back up on my main, it's all still broken.
Question is, why the fuck is it so convoluted? Something like this should be simple as 123 and yet it broke two of my character settings. You should be asked upon creating a new character if you would like to import huds before logging in or as soon as you do log in. This all seems to me like I am missing something, or perhaps it is the import character settings option itself which needs a rework.
If anyone knows of a possible fix, lmk please. If I am fucked, lmk that too, although I have gone through all of the stages of grief before writing this.
TL;DR just manually adjust your huds, hotbars and portraits for the love of all that is good in this world.
