I thought Glamour freedom would make me stick around again...

Well, I guess not.

Don't get me wrong, Glamour freedom is one of the best things that happened to FFXIV in a while. It's so good to see everybody being able to realize better visuals of their character ideas, but a bit over a week in and I'm not finding myself willing to log.

What I've been trying to do?

I've been just progging through Hell on Rails Extreme with PF groups (almost done) but I'm getting sick of doing the same fight over and over, and certainly would have the same feeling with the incoming Savages. There's one extra fight with Unreals, but old stuff recycled like that isn't of my liking, really.

If only jobs were more interesting to play, maybe this feeling would change. Or if we had a more dynamic over-world content to make palate cleansers for how the High End content is. OC got new jobs? Great... but the FT is still a pain in the arse to find a successful group in. The Deep Dungeon was good, but the shiny coat of paint wears fast with the same formula for a fourth time.

Could do PVP, but my 150ms latency (even with a VPN) makes it not enjoyable and just a chore if I want the series rewards. Even roleplaying (stuff I do a lot) burned me a bit, so that's on the shelf for a while.

I'm really liking the story, though, and the hours doing it may have been worth a month of subscription. So I guess I can just resub to FFXIV on the x.x.5 patches to have all that's good in a go, and then wait to see if 8.0 makes the game more engaging to my liking.
