Not played WoW since Cata besides a brief stint with Classic when it came out. Was interested in classic+ rumors so finally watched my first Blizzcon in a decade.
Nearly the entire first 20 minutes of the Blizzcon stream was this poor lady praising how much she loves the company and her coworkers as if corporate had her at gunpoint. It was a bit of a whiplash after so many years of fanfest immediately opening with a new trailer right after the count down then getting right into the details.
All the dev presentations after had them doing similar speeches, some you could tell were reading their script from a prompt. I was excited for some of the announcements but the crazy amount of "corporate family" padding and the way it felt like HR was hiding behind the curtain with knives was jarring.
