I got into FF14 a couple months ago and I got three characters, so far. A Hyur dude, an Au'ra girl, a bunny girl and I wanna make a cat girl.
I know we can switch jobs, and that's great, but we can't really change appearances on the go (vanilla). Half the races look great to me and I'm struggling finding only one character to stick with...
