Has dawntrail improved?

Hey guys. I was thinking about getting back into ffxiv, but the last time I played was after the launch of dawntrail and it was really uninteresting Imo. I was wondering how people have viewed the progression of this expansion and if it has improved at all?

Hoping one day we can see a UI overhaul lol.
