To those not aware, a number of the Ultima sackholders accounts have been hacked, including mine.

Garret was moved to Leviathan and renamed to Rykoshet. All my gil was taken, none of my items, including Aegis, were touched.

SE, assholes that they are, will not retransfer me. So the best case scenario is I will not be able to return to Valefor for 90 days. I do not know what my final disposition on the matter will be.

I'll do my best with some help to pick up the reins, but well Dynamis was never my forte. Still thinking about what must be done to move forward for the next 3 months.

im always on aim and msn sassafras if helps ever needed but then again im sure you have garrets aim also so :P I recently resolved a lot of my irl issues so i should be returning when i get my paycheck :D
 
If someone has an alternate account they would like me to use for Dynamis I would be happy to still attend & organize.

I may not be able to tank actively but I can make parties & target just fine with any random account.

Maybe I could log on with Mythlon to help out Sass. (Or some completely unlinked account)
 
This is very disturbing. I hope there are no more attacks. If there is anything that I can do to help you guys out once you get back (or before, though, I don't know what I could do if you are on another server), I would be more than willing to.

I wish you the best of luck in resolving this matter.
 
Ultima members are attempting a variety of solutions at the moment, though I am not sure how any of them will pan out, if at all. Very frustrating overall obviously.
 
I just finished reading the thread on BG. Couldn't even believe what I was reading. It's surprising anyone would go to lengths like that, and really makes it difficult to even want to play the game =(

Garret, I'm usually very late to Wednesday runs, so my PLD is available to you if you need it. Just send me a message on AIM for account info. Also have a 75 BLM mule on another account. Let me know!

It sure as hell does suck.

I know we weren't really close, but having been part of DX and this forums for about two years, I can say Aang, Garret, Kalia and many others were cool people... :bfg:

I remember how I felt when I almost lost my best friend when someone tried to hack her, and it was horrible, I just can't imagine how it'd feel if something like this happened to me...

Even though giving passwords out wasn't that smartest idea, I've done it myself, I know how it is when you feel like you're close enough to someone to share it, and thankfully my account is still fine as of today. It's obviously someone close to all of you, someone you wouldn't even suspect could do something so horrible to you, pride, jealousy, envy and more can turn your close friends into real bastards...

Anyway... hope you all doing ok and that you'll sort things out... You're also all welcome to come play WoW with us, it's drama free! :)
 
No MMO is drama free ... EVER. Also the means in which the passwords were acquired and who did it is yet to be determined so it may very well be someone none of them know. I stand by telling the authorities and feds because hacking is a federal crime if i remember correctly its worth pursuing in my opinion.

Already pursued, the monetary damages were minimal. Case closed unless I want to drop a few grand on a private attorney.
 
well the thing on KI is stupid cause as much of an issue that anon is making that thing about kalia i think whatever happened with garret and others is probably retaliation or somethin to that.

but thats just my 2gil

as in fbi they did nothing about hacked accounts? i know someone that got results in the past in Ultima Online due to pursuing it that way. It's just an idea and i just really think it sucks what happened to everyone and hope they get everything back to normal asap

It's like real life though, when a child disappears or is found dead, chances are that parents are the culprit.

And alerting the FBI for losing what? Time invested and at max $50 to $75? Won't go very far with that. I don't know US law system very well, but here, lots of crimes and punishments are based on the money stolen.

But really, best luck to you Kalia (funny to learn your real name in some thread though <_< lol), whatever you've done or not, stay calm and cool, get over it. Most important thing would be that even after everything, you've made some friends irl from this game, it's all that matters.

And for Tarnak, I've been playing WoW since January, and have yet to see drama. The only drama I've seen was some people crying they've got killed doing PvP. But if you're still enjoying FFXI... Ah well, lol.
 
I've played damn near everythign out right now and in beta for a few that aren't. Nothing competes with FF drama.

Internet crime is growing faster than authorities can keep track of, enough people raise a fuss however and attention can be drawn to your case. It's a matter of whether your pissed off enough to talk to the right people.

It's more than just Kalia. And considering charges were made on one persons credit card. It's still stolen property and hacking. True mane but FF is also by far the most social one i have played also. i have played wow ffxi l2 uo etc etc.... and drama is usually based upon how social the game is. L2 isnt too full of drama from what i saw minus pvp whining.

My main point was ive had friends that got hacked in the other games and the authorities looked into it to get it restored. So why would they ignore it now? and that was back when online monthly fees were like $10-11/month
 
I can't imagine all the shit that has happened internally with Ultima and all the mud-slinging on BG, KI, etc... but, Garret, were you able to run dynamis tonight? I know I don't attend much but i'm still very interested in the well-being on DX.
