My friend has recently gotten into playing via the free trial, and the game is on sale on steam. They want to take advantage of the savings to get the dawntrail complete edition for half price. Our concern is, does steam give a code you can sit on, or does it automatically register your account as a full game version meaning you cant continue the free trial? My friend wants to milk the free trial as much as possible but also wants to get the sale. Thank you in advance.
