Visually I mean. Everyone I know goes on about loving Fire 4 but in terms of character animation and visual I vastly prefer Fire 1 and 3
With those you charge up magic with your staff and then flourish it. Fire 1 has little fireballs that fly from your staff to the target and Fire 3 causes a massive splashy explosion. The loop between Fire 1 -> Firestarter - Repeat was also just more fun to me.
Fire 4 has you just squint at your staff really hard like you're looking for a smudge on the shiny ball and then a big fire orb just spawns directly on target. It's a lot less satisfying imo that you go from slinging fireballs to just spawning hits on target.
Thunders cast animation is cool. I love Flare and Flare Star. Despair and Paradox are awesome and the frost spells are ok.
I just love Fire 1 and 3 over 4 visually. Has to get these thoughts out there and see if other folks had similar.
