ffxiv dawntrial 7.0 is my first proper expansion
so, id live to give feedback based on my experience as a newer player getting into ffxiv with 7.0 being my first expansion launch i will go on and update this in the comments as patches go but since its .4 i feel like it's a good time to drop my feedback personally on patch cycles
expansion launches aka .0-.05: i feel it's nearly perfect just a slight touch of content and it be perfect nothing major just something small like a new golden saucer activity like queens blood or something a bit more content focused on endgame outside of crafting and extremes hard dungeons is nice, but they often get ignored almost right after its first done i feel
7.1 aka .1 to .15: from a non-raider perspective OUTSIDE OF MSQ this whole patch cycle is a total disaster i feel there's nearly nothing to do for the non-raider outside of a few quests and i feel it shouldn't be like that heck even .15 even though it's a nice addition i feel the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) should of been released in a .35 or a .25 patch because fru was added in .11 which means not only did raiders get a ultimate but they got a whole new tier of raid (chaotic) in the same patch cycle NOT THAT CHAOTIC IS BAD it's just poorly placed i feel from a casual perspective its quite sad and feels kind of missing the mark on the non-raider pov don't get me wrong i love the normal raids but i feel outside of normal raids there wasn't all that much content we can grind and have fun with I liked the allied quests but often wished there was something a bit more to do for the non-raider during .1 cycle
7.2 aka .2 to .25: actually, perfect nearly nothing wrong with .2 patch this cycle had a vast number of things to do from cosmic to Occult Crescent it was nearly perfect
i got barely any complaints with this the only thing i can mention for feedback is .21 should have been occult i feel and .25 should have been cosmic and here is where my biggest complaint of .2 was i really do feel savages should be dropped on .x1 ill dabble on this when i get to talking about just standard .4 as well
my feelings on savages releasing a week after normal raids i feel it should be released on .x1 reason being .x1 would NOT ONLY add content for the raiders but it will add content for the crafters in this case to crafters will still have a whole month or so to get geared up sell and make food potions etc etc but it will also put less pressure onto the raiders to get geared for savage (if they use the raid gear instead) and it doesn't make people who may feel hey why are they only releasing content for raiders why can't i get something to by pushing this to .x1 it will get rid of the idea of releasing content only for raiders and push more towards content for everybody.
