Hi all, happy Fanfest EU! Hope everyone had something to get excited for during the presentation today
I've been eager to see what new updates would be coming with the character creator update and was excited to get a glimpse at some of it.
With the announcement that you'll now be able to remove the nose shading from Lalafell and Viera among other things, I wanted to bring up something that has bothered me about the Lalafell character creator for years since now seems like the time to change it, if ever.
I have no problems with the option being added to remove the natural shading that is part of the skin textures (even tho I personally find it charming) but most Lalafell faces also already have the option to add a darker nose in the Other Features tab on top of the natural darkening that is part of the skin textures. Everyone except male Dunesfolk have this toggle. I assume they were never given the option because all races seem to be limited to 5 options in the other tab, but with the upcoming addition of this new 'remove nose shadow' toggle and other mystery additions to the character creator, is it not possible for some sort of option to finally also be added for male Dunesfolk?
While I am for the most part happy with the 7.0 graphics update (even though we don't have upper lips anymore
), the nose textures and darkening toggle were already lightened a fair amount with it, so M dunes who didn't have an option in the first place have suffered the most in my opinion.
Comparison of each gender / sub race combo:
I know this is probably a small thing to most and I seem to be in the minority who want the noses to be even darker rather than removed but I just think it is such a cute feature and is an important thing that really give Lalafell their Look. (plus its a sweet remnant of their Tarutaru predecessors) Male Dunesfolk deserve to have it too!
What are all your thoughts on whats been shown of the character creator so far? Im super super excited about the Au Ra horns and hope they add some new face paint options. Nothing against flowers and baby chocobos but I'd like some more 'refined' options beyond just makeups.
