Dynamis Currency prices have been dropping pretty steadily, it's not difficult to get currency in the 10-15k range from Bazaars now.

I wanted to post this as a discussion thread to see if people felt any of the DX Currency lotting rules could use changes.

To give a general idea of the numbers behind things currently.

100 Currency Dropping - 10k/single
200 Currency Dropping - 5k/single
300 Currency Dropping - 3.3k/single

Northlands Average - 150 singles
Bastok Average - 275 singles
Windurst Average - 200 singles
Sandoria Average - 250 singles
Jeuno Average - 250 singles

Just to throw a few possible ideas out there, none of which are set in stone by any means.

Sponsor keeps Singles/100's
Sponsor gets up to X amount of currency, currency beyond that is divided among people lotting money
Sponsor gets up to X amount of currency, extra currency is randomned off between people lotting money in increments of X

Only doing this to see if people really want a change or not, and how it may impact attendance if implemented.

Re: Currency

It's so expensive and takes so long to do Relic upgrade, I think sponsors deserve every bit they get from sponsoring.

None of the idea which might be implemented would involve sponsors getting less currency I think.

I think the beauty of the system as it is, is the simplicity of it. Sponsor gets 2-3 times the value of their initial investment in the form of currency which they need, everyone else doesn't have to pay a dime to come in and lot at 100 notes if they need currency or cash or AF2 if they want gear. There is no confusion on who gets what and everyone at least has a chance to get something.

Just to mention it, I think the current system works fine, but was just looking for input on what anyone might think.

Even though I don't run with you guys anymore, I'd like to give my opinion (French people always have an opinion about everything).

Keep your rules, they're fine.

Letting sponsor getting 100s will make alot of angry people, and won't come anymore. Plus, nothing more upseting than seeing 3 100 notes droping and see one guy get them all while nothing else drop.

Give sponsor 1mil worth of currency (or a certain amount of your choice) and split the rest between everyone? Too long, too complcated. Or just make them free lot once the sponsor got enough currency? It'd be meh.

Just keep your system like it is, let sponsor get all singles, people lot 100/AF2, and everyone is happy. Sponsor get single for an avarage of 5k per (following your first post).

Anyway, GL DX~!

I kind of interpreted it as Sass voting for option 1, sponsors keep all singles and 100s.

I'm all for 100s also for sponsors since its so long to get through the upper levels of upgrading. Yes that cuts down some incentive for members but heck they are mainly there for AF otherwise buying currency for afv2+1 upgrades isn't much and doesn't require 100s. Also on top of that if they want currencies sponsor :P

one nice thing about giving 100s to sponsors, is that it then prevents people from lotting/winning 100s then just turning around and selling them. This way it puts ALL currency more directly into a weapon/shield upgrade, rather than lining someones pockets.

but i voted neutral, since i dont know if thats how the DX people want it.

Even though some people do lot 100's just to then sell them I would not want to discourage a lot of people to not attend DX unless most of the other people in the LS wanted to see sponsors receiving 100's as well & didn't care.

I'd love to post some multi-paragraph philosophical debate laying out my stance on this, but frankly... I'm too damn tired today. So with that, I'll say that I think the current system is fine.

As far as attendance, it won't affect me even if the rule does change. I'll keep running with you guys anyway because imo (even with our Qufim woes) this is the most solid dynamis ls out there.

Quite frankly, the point system was the sole thing you could do to keep a lot of people away. With the price of a 100 Note being relatively low now, I think it's safe to say most people are entering Dynamis to buff their points for AF lotting in harder areas, not in the dim hope of winning a gil item which isn't worth as much as it used to be by far. This, coupled with the time it takes to get full relic make me think it'd be a good idea to let sponsor keep all the notes.

Personally I don't have the time to upgrade a relic, never will. But I would really get a kick out of attending a dynamis run where lots of new and powerful weapon skills and such were going off, or having a main tank with Aegis, or a bard with that sweet horn. Getting 300 notes in a run would help that along I think.

Maybe a different poll would be, "Why do you attend DX Dynamis?"

I think the "To get a 100 Note and make some gil" answer would be low.

It's ironic, because even though currency prices have dropped considerably, so has the price of other "luxury" items on the market. Relative to other highly sought after items, I think currency is still pretty expensive, on par with where it was a few months ago. The one who suffers in today's market is actually the sponsor, since the hourglass is a fixed price.

Kalia's point is a good one. The price of currency is a lot lower now, but it's correspondingly harder to earn gil. The fixed 1 mil entry price is less easy to accumulate. Still, sponsoring is an easy choice to make if you qualify for it. You're getting it at 1/3rd the going rate, which to me doesn't seem like "suffering" at all (even if it's not quite as nice as the 1/8th or less that it used to be).

I voted for "no change". I think non-sponsors should continue to be able to lot 100s. It's just more fun that way. Entering a zone knowing you can't win anything at all isn't fun. Knowing you have a slight chance at a 100 adds more interest.

I could see maybe letting the sponsor lot on 100s also, but definitely not in place of others.

I voted Neutral myself.

I think it is a great idea for the sponsors to get all 100's as well as singles.

What kalia said pretty much sums it up for me.

In response to those that think the price of currency is low now, it is lower, but then as Kalia stated, so is the value of everything else. One gil just goes farther than it used to go.

Until the price of a single 100 comes down to 1 million or under, it's not low priced considering that the singles it takes to make a 100 can be gotten at 50% of a run 95% of the time. Don't quote me here, numbers are not exact.

The current rules for currency lotting are fine.

I think it would be fair to keep the rules as they are. There are usually several people in DX per run who would like to sponsor, and since DX members are only allowed to sponsor 1/2 of the runs each month, those who randomed low still have a chance at winning 100s. If you're a chronic low-lotter who rarely gets a chance to sponsor a run, since even the chance to sponsor is random, at least you still get a shot at 100s.
