I never felt the need to share any bad/strange duty roulette experiences but this was just too funny and I think it highlights just a part (albeit maybe a big part due to recent events) of the people who play the game.
Everything was going well in my Rabanastre alliance raid today until we got to the second ads phase and markers on the ads were tossed around. I thought this was weird because you can burn them down by using AoE abilities and kill them faster. So I just said "L markers just aoe them". Someone immediately wrote a whole paragraph about being nicer (and agreed that aoe is faster) but I don't think what I said was necessarily mean in the first place?
Anyways what resulted was a pretty fun discussion about interrupt being used, jokingly talkin crap about each others mothers for some reason, and the whole alliance dying if we didn't focus them one by one (?????) presumably being said by the one who marked the ads. My computer later crashes and right as soon as it boots back up and I see a frame of the dungeon, and I am kicked out. I was offline for like two minutes.
I checked my contacts log and found out that all of the group except one other person was in the same FC. I requeued into Euphrosyne and thankfully not Crystal Tower so no real damage was done but seriously? I hadn't said anything else beforehand. No seriously insulting someone's mother, no calling anyone a dummy or a blockhead, nothing. I didn't even explicitly say who placed the markers cause I just don't know and didn't want to point fingers, although I had some clues.
Sort of off topic but also had some other instances where people just outright left if they got criticized. Someone told the tank to stop spinning the boss and the tank just dipped. Someone pulled ahead of the tank and the tank just dipped. Another instance of a tank spinning the boss and someone called it out. Can you guess what the tank did? Someone says Doton isn't good on single target. Ninja gets heated and leaves. "Use cure 2 instead of cure 3 on single target". Whm dips. Like holy hell, what is going on?? It even works in reverse somehow. Someone told a reaper to use "reaper stance" one time and surprisingly reaper stance wasn't used. Why? Cause reaper stance doesn't exist LOL, it's a skill that applies a debuff. So they leave in a fit.
Has anyone else been experiencing this stuff? I feel like it used to be a rare occurrence but it's been happening a lot recently. Maybe I'm just unlucky. And was my comment mean? Am I the problem in that scenario? I'll be happy to read your thoughts if anyone finds this. And thank you for reading.
P.S. if I see anything about elitism for the Doton and AoE stuff I will genuinely lose faith.
