I put in a decent amount of hours into this game years ago, around 2021-2022. I quit because I felt like a small cog in a machine that had numerous other DPS, so it felt like the role I was playing was very insignificant.
I switched to New World Aeternum and loved the action-combat and started healing for the first time in any MMO (Not that I have a lot of MMO experience outside of these two games).
I like the responsibility and significance that come with healing, but from what I remember, this game felt very robotic and was more of a memory game than something that felt like I needed skill (at least as a DPS). I'm not expecting an action-combat experience, but I think you know what I'm saying.
I want to find an MMO I can just invest a stupid amount of time into, like I did New World, and I want to like FFXIV. So, should I give FFXIV another go after 4 years as a healer this time? And could you tell me what it's like to play a healer in this game?
