Any Pugilist tips for a newbie?

Ended up making a Pugilist yesterday and I’m new to FFXIV. I played the trial a while ago and I think I had a caster but I don’t really remember.

I can change from pugilist if I don’t like it right?

Also, any tips as a pugilist for leveling?

The pugilist starter area was so dead so hopefully the world gets more populated later on!
