After 5 failed attempts, I finally hit level 50 and I finally "get it."

I’ll be honest: I tried getting into FFXIV about 3 or 5 times over the years. Every single time, I bounced off around level 20-30. To me, the early game experience was honestly terrible. The quests felt uninspired, the gameplay was slow, and I was constantly bored out of my mind.

The only thing that kept bringing me back to "endure the pain" was watching end-game boss fights on YouTube. They looked so epic that I knew I had to push through.

Off topic - I am MMORPG veteran player, you name it - WoW, Metin2, NosTale, Aion, GW2, Throne&Liberty and a lot more including thousands of hours.

The early game is also a nightmare to navigate—it’s unintuitive and you feel bombarded with systems, yet somehow feel like you're doing nothing.

However, once I hit level 45, everything did a complete 180. The combat is finally picking up speed, and having more Voice Acting makes a huge difference. I just finished the arc involving rescuing Minfilia and it was a fantastic experience.

Please let it be more voice-acted in next quests. IT CHANGES A LOT.

I just hit level 50 and for the first time, I’m actually excited to see what’s next. To anyone struggling with the early levels: hang in there, it really does get better!
