About the YoRHa questline.

Sprout here, working through the MSQ and Feature Quests right now. I’ve been greatly enjoying my time with the game, and never have I felt that it was wasting my time.

Until now.

The YoRHa questline for the Shadowbringers alliance raids has the be the most drawn-out, boring piece of content up to this point. The post-ARR quests were long and not perfectly-paced, but they were necessary to set up the rest of the MSQ. The Return to Ivalice quests were loquacious and not my cup of tea, but at least those quests were mostly just long cutscenes.

The YoRHa quests, on the other hand, are interminably long, and there are so many of them. I reached my breaking point between the second and third raids, featuring a quest with SEVENTEEN different objectives, many of which were just talking to the same character in different locations, going back and forth between loading screens.

Then, it makes you run through the setting of the second raid, but with a twist—there’s literally nothing to do except run forward for minutes on end. This could be a cool feature, except for the fact that you have to do it again the VERY NEXT QUEST.

I’m sure some people love this questline. I’m not saying it’s without merit or that it drags down the game. But good lord, I was thankful when it was over.

Edit: I do, however, enjoy the raids themselves. Rant over.
