I joined the realm reborn a decade ago started my adventure as a Hume Female. I got 20 levels in then life happened and I started working full time in the Canadian oil sands. Just recently after a crippling back injury I rejoined the fray.

The MSQ was a drudge to say the worst but had many engaging events that kept me strapped in and excited to play. Getting through the MSQ was a lot of fun but now I realize your hand is held throughout all of it.

An end game novice I am now. Playing a game where none of the end game mechanics were ever or if even vaguely explained or remotely prepared me in the MSQ except to some implement of difficulty in Yawntrail.

Through out the MSQ you learn your basic rotation, weaving and some basic mechanics. End game for me now is quite literally a field of razor blades. I am an older gentleman I do not have the reaction time for the mechanics in a regular raid (The first walk for example), never mind an extreme or savage. I learn through repetition and vocal dictation. Repetition is easily achieved but getting rude messages in party chat exclaiming “learn your role!” “Get on the pad, tank!” I may have some Augmented history gear that doesn’t mean I know fully what I am doing. Nobody wants to be pleasant and teach they just expect you to “know your role”.

I have been fortunate enough to meet some wonderful players that are willing to teach. But they are experts playing with experts that I understand want to play with experts. They throw this lowly pally a bone once in a while when they can’t fill a tank for their statics but still it’s a bone being

Vulnerable stacks are just an absolute garbage way to punish a player for messing up an incredibly fast hard to perceive mechanics. All the vulnerable stacks do is piss your healers off and the rest of the entire party off when you die as the tank. It seems as if every single telegraphed attack ads a vulnerability stack, that’s just insanity. It’s no fun knowing you screwed up someone’s grind for mathematics or whatever because they are trying to push through duty roulette to meet their personal in game goals, I understand this but again I am trying my best.

I want to “know my role” I want to be a great Paladin but the battle pace on top of the all different lighting fast mechanics, stupid vulnerable stacks and expectation’s of being a “endgame tank” is making this game un-enjoyable.

Save the gitgud comments, for another thread. I am trying to gitgud the game has made it near impossible in it’s current state and players don’t help with their elitist attitudes. I love this game and all of you but players need to realize we all don’t learn the same way and learn at different paces
