A friend's account got terminated while he wasn't even actively playing and now support is giving him the runaround. Has anyone else experienced this? What else can be done here?

The most he'd do for the past couple of months is stand in his house to renew the timer before auto-demolition happened, as he got pretty burnt out after clearing the last savage tier. We're all incredibly confused.

He had JUST resubbed again and was about to log in to do the usual to keep his house and our FC from getting nuked, only to find that his account was "terminated" with no explanation or reasoning. Looking into it, people had the most reliable help with Square's customer support phone number... Which they deactivated as of September. He tried the digital chat, but they basically told him "idk, wait for the email". Two weeks later, he gets this, and it's basically directing him to go back to the digital chat that told him they couldn't do anything.

We're all getting stressed out, especially because of the long waits and concerns he's going to be put on hold for so long that he loses his house (if not his entire account) with 0 reason given for the termination in the first place.

The only thing we can think of is that his account was compromised, but Square's support doubling down and being vague about the reason for termination (just saying "we banned you for a reason and we won't reverse it" more or less) has everyone on edge. Has anyone else dealt with this?? Is there ANYTHING else we can do?

The possibility of getting permabanned out of nowhere has our entire friend group hesitating on if we even want to keep sinking time and money into ffxiv. We've all been subbed for years. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Edit: We checked asap if it was a chargeback of any kind and it wasn't, so that's not what happened. He doesn't have 2FA enabled to our knowledge so it's entirely possible it was an issue of his account being compromised, but that adds to the frustration of support being super vague and taking forever. Just wanted to add this since chargeback issues are some of the most common reasons for termination it seems.
