With the crafting revamp coming up wouldn't it be nice to condense 11 classes into two? Artisan and collector. Artisan levels to 80 via crafting and can make anything you can buy, and maybe a few nifty things you can't, like a golem pet or a doll like from 9. Artisan can specilise into one of six master crafters, or jobs. Clothier, all cloth armor, Weapon smith, all main hand weapons/ tools, Armorer, all metal armor and offhand weapons/tools, Lapidary, Jewelry and upgrading matria, and lastly mixologist which is a combo of culanrian and alch. You can only have one at a time, and should you change your mastery you lose all the recipies of your mastery, which cost gil or scrips to learn. The masters can craft items no other masters can, basically the end game gear crafters. They also get a buff to eaither crafting or control in their chosen field. Instead of diffrent crafting tools artisans get crafting kits as a main weapon. It takes up main and offhand.
Collectors get gathering tools. They can master into the current classes. They get a buff to gathering or perception and can go up to 20% hq in their mastery. For every ten levels above what they are gathering they get one more item. Example, a level 80 btn gathering mako grass gets 8 per gather instead of one. This could be changed to every 20 levels so they would get 4. GP becomes like CP and is refreshed per node.
