Someone in ls chat mentioned that they had played EQ or EQ2 in the past.
The latest EQ2 expansion came out on Wednesday and since I preordered it ages ago, I figured I'd install and wander around for a bit.
Here's some screens from the level 65-72 area (cap bumped to 80). The new areas look nice, the new gnoll things look badass... but past that, it's the same thing, different day. The epic weapon quests were reintroduced, but they're not complete yet and have an anticipated timeline of 2-3 years to complete :blue-cry: as well as requiring almost 200+ raids to get. Sounds like FFXI relic weapons except some of those raids can go on for a week or more (you can camp inside the raid zones now and play in there several days).
Imagine being in D-Xarca for a week... without ever leaving.
Now that I'm back to FFXI, I really appreciate the character-based gaming over the class-based gaming in EQ2 (only one job per character and starting from scratch when you wanted to play something else).
Oh, and graphics are nice because.. *cough* they're not constrained to PS2 standards.. *grumble*
