Thread title is kinda dumb, but I couldn't think of a better one. Obviously i don't mean who as in the person, its obviously our characters. I meant it more in a sense of what kind of person are they? I'm coming back after about a 4 year break (i left just before Heavensward dropped) and I've torn through both Heavensward and stormblood, and while I find the stories themselves good and I enjoy a lot of the characters, most of the time, I feel like my character is just kinda....there. Sure I get some inputs here and there, but they largely feel meaningless, i mostly feel like a weapon someone in the cast points in a direction and unleashes rather then an actual person in the world. Maybe I've forgotten more then I've realized in my time away, but a lot of the time I'm wondering what's driving my character to do most of the things theyre doing?
Does anyone else have this issue? If not would they mind lending me some insight? (Side note: I'm just starting post 4.0 content so please avoid spoilers, I know it's old for most of you but pleasebear with me.)
