When Is It A Good Time To Start Leveling Up Crafting And Gathering Vocations?

I’m new to FF14 and want to get into gathering and crafting but I also know a lot of stuff is locked from being in areas I haven’t reached yet or behind msq. (Examples of when I should start: after I reach a certain level on my combat class or after I finish ARR msq)
