I'm sure everyone has their own preferences, so just curious.
I started as a CNJ in Gridania, and I like the forest (it is the most like the wood country where I live irl), and doesn't seem like it'd be too balmy/hot/humid nor too cold.
That said, Crystarium has a special place in my heart since, despite playing from ARR, ShB was the first expansion I really got to do a lot of the content in and it was just generally magical and a memorable part of my life in the military. I also like how the inn keeper says that it's in the same condition I left it, and always will be kept for me, no matter how many years I'm away from the First between going back there, they always keep it up just for me. That and Emet's bird hanging out there (though he did creep me out a bit at first, I've grown to like him) makes it truly special to me even now. It also seems like a temperate place, and I love how you can see the weather and countryside out of the window. When it's irl raining and there's thunderstorm weather in the zone, it just feels so cozy to me,, especially when the weather starts turning cool irl. It just FEELS like late fall to me, which is one of my favorite times of the year.
Honorable third place mention to Foundation/Ishgard. While I personally hate the cold, it is kind of a chill place with the cozy fireplace, and I think Ishgard has a special place in just about everyone's hearts. I love thinking of it like it's the inn room the WoL was in the cinematic where he changes out of the WAR gear and into the DRG gear with that window overlooking that forever view.
Special secondary honorable mention (I am stopping here, though) to Sharl. It seems a bit chilly to me (I'm a tactile person, I guess?), but the blankets are warm and it still feels like such a chill place. The Students of Baldession, now that the Scions are disbanded, is probably the closest thing besides Crystarium or the Fortemps that is family/home for the WoL at this point, and it also has one very unique thing: Different inn music. I don't know why it's the only one, but it's nice. And like Crystarium, EW was the second expansion I did a lot of things in, so I have a lot of fond memories of it.
