I'm an Australian player who's been playing on an American data center. This has been mostly fine, but there has been too many instances of my character being hit by aoes she was definitely out of on my screen. And the lack of queues when it hits evening in my timezone.
So I was thinking of changing to a server where I would have less lag and be able to play with people in my timezone. But for me, that's on Japanese servers. I hear Tonberry is the unofficial Australian server, so I'm thinking of moving there.
But it's still a Japanese server, with Japanese people who speak Japanese. I learned a tiny bit of Japanese in high school, but I've forgotten most of it, and it wouldn't carry me through the most simple of conversations.
People in my situation or similar, before I make the move, what's it like?
