Hello fellow Eorzeans! I am building a website for my coding bootcamp portfolio and goal is to create a website that will help new players select a class and I need your help!
I decided to embark on this project after inviting several of my friends to FFXIV and seeing them become frustrated with their first class for various reasons. Some of them even stopped playing the game because of their frustrations. Many of them did some amount of research prior to their selection, but a few of them were playing an MMO for the first time and were confused by roles, dungeon mechanics etc. so even if they did their own homework they weren't quite sure how to translate what they found into the playstyle they desired.
Thus, I am hoping to create a comprehensive website with a quiz that offers new players "at a glance" information that is easy to digest, even for those who are new to the MMO experience. Detailed answers will also be available elsewhere on the site, but the quiz itself is meant to help a new and/or potential player identify the playstyle they are looking for and which class best suits their needs.
I'm hoping my fellow Warriors of Light can provide some insight into what their experiences were as new players so that I can create a solid infrastructure that will provide the most accurate results possible.
There are no wrong answers and none of them are required. All answers are helpful because it is based on your personal experience. The survey is completely anonymous and you can provide as much or as little information as you find appropriate.
